Please join the Guemes Island Historical Society on Monday, May 14th when celebrated artist and lifelong resident of Anacortes and Guemes Island, “Wild Bill Mitchell” recalls the past and present of life in this community. Bill has major ties to Guemes Island through his Grandfather, Bill Bessner, an early ferry owner and captain serving Guemes Island. Perhaps best known for his wonderful murals depicting scenes and characters of Anacortes, Wild Bill is also an accomplished storyteller and area historian. Don't miss the chance to hear of his deeds of daring, many close calls, miraculous escapes and fish stories you won't believe!

Our program begins at 7 pm at the Guemes Island Church on Monday, May 14th. Our regularly scheduled business meeting will follow the presentation. All are welcome to attend. For more information please email guemeshistory@gmail.com or phone Tom Deach at 360-708-2582.
